This specialized unit diagnoses and treats diseases and conditions of the stomach and intestines. Some of the conditions that we treat include peptic ulcers and diseases of the liver and gallbladder. These are some of the procedures we offer:

  • Gastroscopy - a procedure that uses a flexible tube to examine the upper intestinal tract, usually if your doctor suspects that you have an ulcer, inflammation or other abnormality of the esophagus
  • Colonoscopy - a procedure that allows a physician to see inside your entire large intestine and the lower end of the small intestine to detect abnormalities in early stages of cancer
  • Bronchoscopy - a diagnostic examination of the major air passages of the lungs.
  • Proctoscopy - another test for viewing the bowel to check for polyps, an abnormal growth in the colon.
  • Endoluminal Gastro Plication (ELG) - Procedure to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) while avoiding the risks of major abdominal surgery.
  • Esophageal motility studies - a test used to diagnose abnormalities in the function of the esophageal muscle.
  • Flexible sigmoidoscopy - a procedure that helps a physician see the inside of the large intestine to find the cause of diarrhea, abdominal pain or constipation, or to find early signs of cancer.
