Heart & Vascular Care
Technologies
Among the first
We were among the first in the South Suburbs to offer many treatments and technology for heart & vascular care. Here are some recent advances:
• Ingalls Integrated Heart Care Center includes a 64-Slice CT
Scan for the detection and management of heart disease.
This non-invasive test could save your life or the life of
someone you love. Using this advance technology, our
physicians can look inside the heart and its arteries for
plaque and calcium build-up.
• Ingalls enhances its line of cardiovascular services with a
comprehensive electrophysiology program (EP). EP is the
study of the heart’s electrical system. Used to determine the
cause of heart rhythm disturbances, EP provides the critical
information needed to effectively treat the condition.
• An all-digital catheterization (cath) lab at Ingalls was the first
and only imaging system of its kind in the Chicago area. This
system allows cardiologists to view hard-to-see blood vessels
with exceptional clarity, even under the most difficult
conditions
• Ingalls was one of the first in the nation to offer a
revolutionary new pacemaker for congestive heart failure
patients. It's called a "biventricular pacer/defibrillator."
